The pandemic is affecting us a lot as we can hardly exercise our sport. Mostly all tournaments were cancelled last summer and in Germany the running season has been interrupted. However, we are sure that better times will come and next summer we’ll get together again in Berlin to have 3 days full of Lacrosse, good weather and social togetherness. That is why we’re announcing that the Berlin Open 2021 will take place from July 2-4, as long as Corona doesn’t screw it up again.
Dear Lacrosse Community,
it was not easy making this decision, but we cancel the Berlin Open 2020 due to the current situation with COVID-19.
It is a worldwide pandemic and Berlin Open is an international tournament with teams and referees from all over the globe. We can’t predict what kind of situation we will have in July, however the health of each individual is more important than everything else. That is why we think it is the best for all of us to cancel this year’s Berlin Open Lacrosse tournament. In addition to that, it is currently not possible to book hotel rooms in Berlin, booked rooms for referees were cancelled from the hotel and it is currently just not possible for us to prepare a large tournament like this. We really hope that this message comes early enough that you can still cancel flights and accommodation, if already booked.
We are sorry and so sad not meeting you this summer, not seeing great Lacrosse games, not drinking some beers with you, not having a great weekend with people from all over the world. But we will be back in 2021 and hope to see you then.
Thank you for your understanding. Stay healthy and stay home!
Best regards
The Berlin Open Crew!
Dear Lacrosse Community, our world is in an exceptional situation and nobody can say weather this situation will calm down within weeks or even months. We won’t make any decision for cancelling the Berlin Open tournament by now, but of course we evaluate this situation on a regular basis. You will get updates on this topic via our homepage www.berlinopen.de and here on Facebook.
Take care of yourself and your loved ones and let’s all hope to get back to business as usual as soon as possible.
We have some more winners and losers from the "stone, scissors, paper" game.
